Welcoming Speech:

On behalf of the Executive Board of Teamsters Joint Council No. 25, welcome to Chicago and the 2011 James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund dinner.
My name is Terrence J. Hancock
In addition to serving as the Vice President of Joint Council 25, I am also the President of Teamsters Local 731.
This year, Joint Council 25 is celebrating its 100th Anniversary as an affiliate support leader on behalf of all of its associate Teamster Local Unions.
With more than 100,000 rank and file members and 20 affiliated Local Unions,
Joint Council 25 could not be more proud to host tonight's extraordinary event in our beautiful International City.
Joint Council 25 Covers Early Fees for First 1,500 Applicants
Teamsters Joint Council 25 needs 1,500 applications to establish the first-ever specialty license plates honoring Teamster men and women across Illinois.
Teamster members and supporters simply need to complete the attached application form and return it to the Joint Council to secure the new license plates. Joint Council 25 will cover a $25 registration fee for the first 1,500 applicants and help members get one step closer to taking their union pride on the road.

“The Teamsters license plate not only reminds everyone on the road of the strength of our union, but it offers Illinois drivers a special designation to call their own,” said John T. Coli, President of Joint Council 25. “At no cost, Teamsters and their families can help guarantee Illinois residents recognize our union on every street and highway statewide.”
After Joint Council 25 receives 1,500 completed applications, the Secretary of State’s office will begin producing the specialty license plates. Applicants will be notified when plates become available. It will only cost $15 for applicants to pick up their final license plates; anyone who registers after the first 1,500 applications have been submitted will have to pay $40.
“All you have to do is fill out your application and return it to the Joint Council; it’s that simple,” said Coli. “It only takes a minute to complete the process and show your Teamster Pride.”
Please return completed applications to the Joint Council. Completed forms may be faxed to (847) 292-1412 or e-mailed to Will Petty at will@chicagoteamsters.org.

A majority of all funds raised by the specialty license plates will be donated to the Teamsters Joint Council 25 Charitable Trust.
